I must apologize for being so lax in my blog posts of late. Those of you who know me well know that I just recently became a grandma again for the 2nd and 3rd time (my son and his wife had twins). This is supposed to be my “slow” time of year, but I seem to have less free time than ever! If you are anxiously awaiting the new 2013 schedule of classes and trips so that you can plan out your paddling season, please be patient. I am working on it right now and hope to have it up on the website by around the middle of February.
In the meantime, if you have a particular class or trip that you are dying to take this summer, I would recommend that you look at your personal calendar and send me an e-mail to let me know when you would like to see that class/trip offered. Right now is when I have the most flexibility to schedule programs on the exact date when you need to take it. You can help me plan out my schedule for 2013!
It is also helpful for me to hear from prospective students about which classes and trips they would like to see me offer. With only one instructor on staff, (ME), I’m finding it hard to offer all the programs that I would like, as often as I would like. Consequently, I’m considering dropping certain class offerings that have not had significant registration in past years in favor of some new offerings. Any classes that I drop from the planned schedule will still be available by request and those course descriptions will stay on the website.
A new program that I am seriously considering for addition this year is the American Canoe Association (ACA) Coastal Kayak Level 3/Level 4 Skills Assessment. If this is something that you are interested in, I would love to hear from you.
Once again, thanks for your patience and you’ll be hearing from me soon!
P.S. Look for me at Canoecopia 2013 in Madison, Wisconsin, this March. I’ll be giving a presentation this year, details to follow in February.
