CHOOSING YOUR FIRST KAYAK , Saturday, May 19, 2012 – 11am and Sunday, May 20, 2012 – 1pm, 1433 N. Water Street, Milwaukee, WI  53202

I will be at the Laacke & Joys Paddlefest weekend on May 19 & 20, 2012 giving presentations on choosing a kayak.  Learn about the differences between recreational, whitewater, and sea kayaks and some basics of hull design.  There will also be important information for those considering the option of sit-on-top and tandem kayaks and suggestions for ways to get the most out of your test-paddling experience.  I’m always happy to answer specific questions that you may have about canoes and kayaks before test paddling or purchasing.

GETTING YOUR KIDS STARTED IN PADDLING, Sunday, May 20, 2012 – 3pm, 1433 N. Water Street, Milwaukee, WI  53202

This seminar is perfect for parents with children age 7 and over. Learn about different boats available for kids and which accessory items are essential for paddling.  You’ll get some tips ideas for ways to get your family out on the water safely. We’ll show you how to properly fit parents and children in boats. If time allows, we will launch from the dock for a little on-water instruction. This last part will be dependent on the number of participants, time and boat availability, and the amount of interest as this is part of the Laacke & Joys Paddlefest event.
