—Canoe/Kayak Rental Info—

SherriKayaks does not rent canoes and kayaks, although we do provide boats for most of our classes and trips.  If you are looking to rent a canoe or kayak, listed below are the locations that I am currently aware of.  Inclusion on this list does not imply any sort of endorsement on my part.  If you know of other locations in Southeast Wisconsin and Northeast Illinois that offer canoe and kayak rentals, I would appreciate it if you would pass on the contact information for that business.

Potential renters should take the time to do some research before renting.  Besides rental costs, ask questions like:

  • What makes and models of boats are available? (recreational or sea kayaks, length, width, stability, etc.)
  • What material are the boats made of (polyethylene plastic, polycarbonate plastic, fiberglass, Royalex, Kevlar)
  • What additional accessories are included? (life jacket, paddle, sprayskirt, pump, paddle float, foam block carrier kits to transport the boat, etc.)
  • What kinds of paddles are included in the rental?  Is there an option to upgrade for additional cost?
  • Do you require specific training before being allowed to rent?
  • Is the rental operation located on the water?  Will I need to transport the boats to water on my own vehicle?  Can I arrange to have the boats taken to a nearby lake or river?  Do they handle shuttles on a river?


RENTAL OPTIONS IN SOUTHEASTERN WISCONSIN

Boathouse Bar – 34422 Delafield Road, Oconomowoc, WI 53066.  Located on the water on Upper Nemahbin Lake.  Canoe rentals only, no reservations taken.  Call George at 262-873-9091.  This property was sold in 2012.  It is currently unknown whether there will be an canoe rentals at this location going forward.

Codie’s Kayaking & Canoeing – Lake Geneva, WI.  Located near Grand Geneva Resort.  Self-guided trips on the White River from May to late fall.  Website: www.codieskayaking.com.  Call 262-215-2105 for information or reservations.
